An introduction to technical details related to the Physical Layer of the LTE standard with MATLAB®

The LTE (Long Term Evolution) and LTE-Advanced are among the latest mobile communications standards, designed to realize the dream of a truly global, fast, all-IP-based, secure broadband mobile access technology.

This book examines the Physical Layer (PHY) of the LTE standards by incorporating three conceptual elements: an overview of the theory behind key enabling technologies; a concise discussion regarding standard specifications; and the MATLAB® algorithms needed to simulate the standard.

The use of MATLAB®, a widely used technical computing language, is one of the distinguishing features of this book. Through a series of MATLAB® programs, the author explores each of the enabling technologies, pedagogically synthesizes an LTE PHY system model, and evaluates system performance at each stage. Following this step-by-step process, readers will achieve deeper understanding of LTE concepts and specifications through simulations.

Key Features:

• Accessible, intuitive, and progressive; one of the few books to focus primarily on the modeling, simulation, and implementation of the LTE PHY standard
• Includes case studies and testbenches in MATLAB®, which build knowledge gradually and incrementally until a functional specification for the LTE PHY is attained
• Accompanying Web site includes all MATLAB® programs, together with PowerPoint slides and other illustrative examples

From reader reviews:

Donald Hidalgo:

Now a day people who Living in the era just where everything reachable by match the internet and the resources in it can be true or not require people to be aware of each facts they get. How a lot more to be smart in receiving any information nowadays? Of course the solution is reading a book. Reading a book can help men and women out of this uncertainty Information specially this Understanding LTE with MATLAB: From Mathematical Modeling to Simulation and Prototyping book because this book offers you rich details and knowledge. Of course the details in this book hundred percent guarantees there is no doubt in it everbody knows.

Florinda Redfern:

Reading can called mind hangout, why? Because if you are reading a book specifically book entitled Understanding LTE with MATLAB: From Mathematical Modeling to Simulation and Prototyping your head will drift away trough every dimension, wandering in every single aspect that maybe unknown for but surely will become your mind friends. Imaging just about every word written in a guide then become one type conclusion and explanation that will maybe you never get before. The Understanding LTE with MATLAB: From Mathematical Modeling to Simulation and Prototyping giving you a different experience more than blown away your brain but also giving you useful details for your better life in this particular era. So now let us explain to you the relaxing pattern is your body and mind is going to be pleased when you are finished reading through it, like winning a. Do you want to try this extraordinary spending spare time activity?

Robert Murphy:

As a university student exactly feel bored to reading. If their teacher questioned them to go to the library in order to make summary for some publication, they are complained. Just very little students that has reading's heart and soul or real their passion. They just do what the teacher want, like asked to the library. They go to presently there but nothing reading very seriously. Any students feel that looking at is not important, boring along with can't see colorful photos on there. Yeah, it is being complicated. Book is very important for you personally. As we know that on this period, many ways to get whatever we wish. Likewise word says, many ways to reach Chinese's country. So , this Understanding LTE with MATLAB: From Mathematical Modeling to Simulation and Prototyping can make you really feel more interested to read.
